Many people say that a social study subject, especially Korean history is a memory subject. However, it is not. Korean history is a comprehension subject. It is the same for all subjects including mathematics; there is no subject that does not require memorization. Understanding its contents prior to memorizing them helps efficient memorization. Only when fully comprehended as your own knowledge, they can be utilized to solve problems.
What is important is understanding of concepts, and it depends on vocabulary power. Currently, a Korean vocabulary can be easily looked up in a dictionary. However, if there is a difficult word found when you study Korean history, it cannot be looked up easily in a dictionary. It was regarded that a dictionary of Korean history terms is urgently required especially for students who prepare for College Scholastic Ability Test. So, this program has been released to help them.

1. The program supports the real-time search (auto complete) function(Korean, Chinese characters, English).
2. It provides the bookmark feature.
3. It supports zoom-in/zoom-out features for each detail explanation.

사회 과목, 특히 국사 과목을 암기 과목이라고 하는 사람이 많은데 그것은 틀린 말이다. 국사는 이해 과목이다. 수학 등 모든 과목이 마찬가지이겠지만, 암기를 하지 않는 과목이 어디 있겠는가. 암기하기 전에 그 내용을 얼마나 이해하였는가가 효율적인 암기를 하는 데 도움을 준다. 내 것으로 완전히 이해된 지식만이 문제를 응용하여 풀 수 있는 능력을 발휘하게 된다.
문제는 개념의 파악인데, 개념이란 어휘력에 의해 좌우된다. 현재 국어 어휘는 손쉽게 사전을 찾아볼 수 있지만, 국사 공부를 하다가 어려운 단어가 나오면 쉽게 사전을 찾아볼 수 있는 여건이 마련되어 있지 않다. 특히, 수능을 준비하는 학생들에게 국사 용어사전은 더욱 절실하다고 생각되었고, 이에 조금이나마 도움을 주고자 하여 이 프로그램을 출시하게 되었다.
